Snow days in New York. It feels like everyone is on vacation. And kids transform Fort Greene Park into sledge slopes.

Sunsets in NY are very cinematic. This one is from my window but the ones on the skyline are just beyond.

The smell of the ocean. The sea or river views. And RED HOOK, such a special neighborhood, a little bit out of time. You can easily imagine how it was when it was inhabited by sailors.

Chelsea Piers. And the sports center there that has a gigantic pool - Even though it’s indoor you can enjoy the light while you swim. It’s almost like being on the deck of a boat. It’s blissful! I miss going there a lot as it really was my happy place!

Fall in New York is so joyful and sweet.

The non stop creative energy that brings to life artworks of course but also important initiatives such as Wide Awakes!

Every one is doing something and is generous about it. Olivia Wendel makes amazing blankets and she sent me one the other day. I have never met her but we both are twins, interested in Judaism and having fun creative projects.

Half your neighbors are working on different photo projects. A young girl who just moved to the building next to ours is doing a photo project about our street and is photographing everyone. It reminded me of when I moved to NYC and started a project about New Yorkers’ love letters with @bailey !

Elizabeth street garden! My twin used to live in front of it and I always dreamed of going there. 6 years ago the garden opened its doors. It’s a very special place that the city wants to destroy to build condos. Joseph, Patricia, Ella and others are fighting for its survival.

Hidden art everywhere. Here a wooden representation of Pangea by Takao Shiraishi that I installed in Elizabeth street garden thanks to Joseph Reiver who invited me to curate a few shows there!

Murals ! Here, the Brazilian twins Os Gemeos when they were painting a mural in Chelsea. 👯‍♂️

Jerry Saltz always bringing smiles and thumbs up 👍🏼 to art fairs. (Here in front of a textile piece by Sophia Narrett. Find her on Beams!)

SPRING/BREAK art show!! a curator driven fair that takes place in decommissioned spaces and where every booth is a brand new environment. Best place to discover new up and coming artists. This is the booth i curated last year with reversed paintings on glass by Jessica Frances Grégoire Lancaster.

You talk to your neighbors and to people in the neighborhood. Weekly conversations with strangers at the park, especially between parents and dog owners.

This 6-8pm window on summer evenings when the streets are busy and the air is slightly less hot
