Body basics for dry skin EVERYWHERE. Dirpobase is prescription but Cetraben also works for me... my advice is to try a bunch of strong body emollients to find the one which works for you. Also Burt’s Bees mamma oil is great beyond post-partum days too.

When my skin is really really bad, there are almost no mainstream products I can put on my face without it flaring up into puffy red soreness. That was until I tried Cera Ve. Very light and gentle cleanser, zero perfume or any aggravating emulsifiers. Use for daily cleanse... the moisturiser is a little thicker so I use at night.

Big fan of oils over here. I use a sweet Almond Oil daily to sooth and rejuvenate tired dry skin, then Cornish brand Mrs Lynch’s skin food and By Sarah’s facial oil at night, just a few drops before moisturiser!

A celebrity make up artist introduced me to Antipodes, as she used it for eczema sufferers among her clients. I’ve tried sooooo many moisturisers but this is the gentlest while being thick enough to feel like the dry bits are kept at bay. I love their brightening day moisturiser, and it smells delicious too.

More Dr Weil... the Miceller Cleanser for makeup removal, the mushroom mask for evenings when only an oat bath will sooth very sore dry itchy skin.

I didn’t want to miss the Hyaluronic Acid trend, but only this one by La Roche-Posay was gentle enough. Use after oil, before moisturiser... just a few drops to make you remember what dewy skin feels like 🤪

Two primers worth trying for dry skin days... Dermalogica was often my go-to before my skin got its worst (due to pregnancy)... but I still like their sensitive range and this barrier repair cream smoothes out eczema cracks if you want to add any makeup. The Nars version for eyes also repairs cracked lids, though the best advice is to avoid makeup when your skin is really really suffering.

More from the dermalogica sensitive skin range. These two helped me our during a dry patch last year, but as is typical with skin I no longer find them as effective this year. A bit like shampoo: sometimes you have to change the product every once in a while when it stops giving you what you need.

I love this new Cornish brand Yellow Gorse. It’s a bit like Honest (now rebranded Harvest). I’m pretty much sold on any “balm” with calendula in it. This one also has Shea, argan oil and white grapefruit. 💛 I use mainly around my lips and under my nose which has an annoying patch of eczema I can’t get rid of. But also great for hands and eyes.

Bodewell offers a good non RX solution which you can currently buy online — the system also looks at a holistic view to treatment and I really like that not only to they use botanical formulas targeting eczema and psoriasis but they also have a one on one with you through their site to guide you through the program with other tips for sufferers
